I am an international business major so I am required to study abroad so it will be interesting to get a real world experience on some of the things I am learning in class. Besides the fact that I am required to, I would have taken advantage of this opportunity provided to me by Quinnipiac either way because this is most likely the only time in my life where I will have the time and opportunity to live in another country. Rites of Passage theory will help me be more conscious and open to the changes happening within and around me while studying abroad in Barcelona. Living in another country will be a once in a lifetime experience and going in knowing that, I think I’ll be a lot more appreciative of my experiences there and I will make sure everyday counts. That’s why this quote by Jonathan Swift inspires me, “Every day is an opportunity to make a new happy ending. May you live all the days of your life.” I only have about four months abroad so I’m going to want to make sure that I’m making memories everyday and experiencing new things.
